Break Free: How to Eat Intuitively & Obsess Less About Food

Make your last diet your last diet.

A 10-week Intuitive Eating group coaching program to help you learn how to eat without guilt, begin re-building body trust, and discover the satisfaction that comes from cultivating more food flexibility.

Raise your hand if you are tired of:

🙋🏼‍♀️ Feeling restricted, guilty, and disconnected from your body's nourishment needs,

🙋🏼‍♀️ Vacillating between feelings of deprivation and loss of control around food, and

🙋🏼‍♀️ The constant stress of and obsession with making the “right” food decisions.

If your response was yes, yes, and yes please know you are not alone! And please also know, it doesn’t need to be that way.

Let’s make this year the year you break free from the cycle of dieting and discover a life of joyful, unrestricted, and peaceful eating.

Our signature 10-week group program, Break Free: How to Eat Intuitively & Obsess Less About Food, will guide you through the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating and empower you to rediscover your innate wisdom around food.

How It Works

This group is: part book club, part support group, part self-study. We'll cover 1 Intuitive Eating principle per week and each week will include:

  • A reading assignment from the Intuitive Eating book,

  • A learning module accessed through the program portal with reflection questions and supplementary videos and resources to support your learning and application of the content, and

  • A 60-minute live group Zoom call to discuss questions, share observations, and offer support to one another as it relates to the content being covered that week.

Additionally, there is a pre-program introductory module that is available prior to the official start of the program that will serve as an introduction to the program and an overview of Intuitive Eating.

Already have a solid grasp on the Intuitive Eating principles and really just looking for some community and support? Check out our drop-in Intuitive Eating support group Thrive: A Community for Intuitive Eaters.

Together, over the course of 10 weeks, you will:

🌿 Discover a whole new way of relating to food.

One without rules, restriction, judgment, or guilt. Instead, you will reconnect with your body’s appetite cues, rebuild trust in yourself, and reclaim your confidence and autonomy in being your own authority on your food decisions.

💖 Learn new practices to help cultivate the peaceful eating experiences you crave.

Conversations will go far beyond your plate and the actual food you are eating. We’ll explore mindfulness, self-compassion, and acceptance as practices to help you find greater peace and ease with food and in your body.

💭Reimagine what it looks like to eat for wellbeing

Because rejecting diet culture is not the same as rejecting eating to support your health and wellbeing. You’ll learn how to make food decisions that are truly supportive of your whole health and wellbeing while disconnecting from the fear-mongering messaging of diet culture.

🤝 Find connection in a supportive community

Join a group of like-minded individuals, with shared lived experience, all on a similar path to finding more freedom and flexibility with food. You’ll have ample opportunity to share your experiences, seek support, ask questions, and feel less alone.

🌈 Be guided by a compassionate and experienced facilitator.

Dana is an experienced registered dietitian, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and Eating Disorder Specialist & Consultant, with over a decade of Intuitive Eating training and experience. She’s supported hundreds of people on their path to healing their relationship with food. (And she talks with her hands, a lot!)

Take the first step towards building a life where food is your friend, not your enemy. Where you can eat with satisfaction and without guilt. Where you can invest more physical and mental energy in the things you love and less in controlling your food and body.

Next cohort starts May 29, 2024!

This group is for you if…

✅ You want to break free from diet culture’s food rules, end the dieting cycle, and find greater peace and ease with food with an anti-diet approach eating, moving, and living.

✅ You are looking to learn more about or deepen your understanding of intuitive eating, whether you are new to intuitive eating or have been on this journey for some time already.

✅ You are looking to actively engage in conversations with others around topics pertaining to intuitive eating and anti-diet eating, moving, and living.

✅ You are far enough into eating disorder recovery where behavior use is minimal and, in coordination with your care team, have determined that it’s appropriate to fully embrace intuitive eating.

✅ You are able to consistently attend and participate in the group discussions (i.e. not missing more than two scheduled meetings). This group is designed to create community and connection. As such, enrollment is limited and numerous absences can compromise the integrity of the community. Session are not recorded.

This group is probably not a great fit for…

❌ Anyone actively pursuing, or seeking to pursue, intentional weight loss. While we believe in body autonomy and everyone’s right to decide what’s best for them and their bodies, Intuitive Eating is not a weight loss intervention nor is it compatible with the pursuit of intentional weight loss. Beyond that, many folks who come to Intuitive Eating do so after the (often years or decades-long) pursuit of intentional weight loss has failed them and been a source of significant harm. Thus, this is not a space that would be helpful for those pursuing intentional weight loss. Likewise, conversations of intentional weight loss would not be supportive for the audience this group was created for. This doesn’t mean you can’t hold the desire for weight change, though.

❌ Anyone with an active eating disorder or in the early stages of eating disorder recovery. That’s not to say that intuitive eating isn’t relevant for those in recovery at any stage, but at earlier stages it’s often more supportive if the way in which intuitive eating is integrated into the recovery process is guided by an individual’s treatment team and tailored to their individual needs. If you are currently engaging in significant disordered eating behaviors (like significant dietary restriction, purging, frequent binge eating, excessive or compulsive exercise) this group is not an appropriate starting place for your healing.

What past participants have said…

If you are at all interested in pursuing intuitive eating, you owe it to yourself to join a group led by Dana. I just wish it continued all year! Sharing with others while delving into the Intuitive Eating material, makes all the difference.
— Jan, past participant
“Dana is a fabulous facilitator. I had read the book but was having trouble truly taking it all in. Through this workshop Dana guided us through the content in a way that allowed us to make it our own, in the supportive company of others. Highly recommend!”
— H.F., past participant
Dana’s IE support group/book club helped me connect with others who share similar experiences, which helped me feel less alone in my journey. The work with Dana and the other women in the group, hearing their stories that resonated so deeply, allowed me to give myself more compassion and grace when thinking about my experiences. Previously, I struggled daily with self-doubt and every meal/snack was a source of anxiety. This group has strengthened my self-trust and I’ve learned things about myself I wouldn’t have realized otherwise. The club gave me accountability, space to process, support from others, and guidance through Dana’s wealth of knowledge and experience. 100% worth it!
— R.H., part participant

I can’t wait to support you, too!
